I have a question

What do you wish you could see or read for the first time again?

I ask because we're watching Arrow, and I already wish I could see the first season for the first time again, even though I have all the S2 eps saved up to watch. I've developed a deep well of affection for Ollie, Diggle, and Felicity, and I wish I could watch it all unfold again ( Read more... )

Hee! I'd put Sports Night on there too. Such delight. We laughed ourselves silly. :)

I wish I could hear Gershwin's Concerto in F again for the first time.
Or maybe Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here.
I wish I could read Asimov's Foundation Series again for the first time. Maybe some of Norman Spinrad as well, like Child of Fortune (one of my favorite SF books that I can't get anyone to read LOL)
Or maybe The Screwtape Letters and Letters to the Earth.

:)

due South. Perpetually.

Maybe Dead Like Me. I can't really think of much else. Marvel's The Avengers! The first season of POI.

But mostly due South. :)

Oh, yay! I have the first season of POI to watch for the first time!

We never watched Dead Like Me. I have it confused with Joan of Arcadia, maybe? Do they star the same person? Could my 12-year-old watch it?

JoA has Amber Tamblin, a good reason to watch it actually, while DLM has Ellen Muth. Here's the Parents' Guide to it.

TBH, I don't remember the graphic deaths, and I'm pretty squeamish, but I've seen a lot more tv/movies than your daughter has. POI has a fair and reasonable amount of violence, too.

If you want something Apple might like, too, have you seen Wonderfalls? That's pretty kid friendly. Another show I loved that was pretty kid friendly was Bruce Campbell's The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. It was too quirky for its time and it passed almost unnoticed, but I loved it! Also, have you ever seen The Middleman? Hilarious, with a hero who reminds me a lot of Fraser. :)

She *adored* both Brisco County and The Middleman, and was seriously torqued that there weren't more episodes of both!

She imprinted on Brisco's wry humor like a duck, and she thought the outlandishness of The Middleman was the bomb. I think it set her up nicely for her current Dr. Who love. :)

I think today we're going to watch Oceans 11...

Oh! *is jealous*

It's a comedy about the apocalypse (with footnotes)! You *have* to read it! It's brilliant!

Ahhh. That explains it! I am, generally speaking, not a fan of apocalyptic stuff - movies, tv, or books!
