IMO, a crime should not be titled and catagorized and processed ASAP according to impersonal standard procedure. Every crime should be judged individually, in consideration of all its specific details, and its punishment should be appropriate and commensurrate. Thats why we have courts to debate as necessary. What i mean is, don't compare "murder" with "attempted murder." Instead, compare the criminal action Bob performed to the criminal action Sam performed. Maybe Bob attempted murder and ended up shooting his own foot, but Sam provided euthanasia service to a dying cancer sufferer at their request. Now who's gonna have the worse punishment, and why?
