Too far away

While things may be good in general, one's thoughts may still drift to sad things. Presently, it's sympathy and concern for a friend and their family that's weighing on my mind - though I don't really know much about it, some things are universal to one extent or another and thus so is empathy about them.

You had a great grandma called Molly? How odd.

I agree with you about the euthanasia thing. I've worked in a nursing home and seen what the quality of life is like for people with degenerative mental illness. It's not a pretty picture and I think I'd probably rather just die. It's hard for me to give a final opinion without having experienced it personally though.

I'd never drawn the connection, but yeah. Your name did initially strike me, but not because of my great grand mother so much as that it's just not one that comes up much these days.

As for the other thing: My family (well, my mother, brother, and I - sod Dad) have an understanding on that. Think - a pretty and VERY COLD mountain and "I may be gone some time" without the cannibalism. (You know that's what thought to have happened on the Scott expedition, right? Heroic sacrifice, but not quite as we originally thought.)
