I wouldn't worry too much about raising . . . Mouse? . . . wrong, Kira. You'll probably do better than most parents do with their kids.

Have you asked Hinamori about watching her for you so you can go to work? She seems like the type to fall for a fluffball. I'd volunteer, but the social worker is coming tomorrow, and I don't want to have to explain about any cat hair.

Thank you, Hitsugaya. And I'll ask Momo when she gets in, but I don't think Mouse is going to stop looking at me, and I can't go when she does that. And I almost left when she went to sleep, but then I thought about her waking up and me not being there, and imagining the look turned out to be worse than actually recieving it, so...

And I've been reading the pamphlet that came with the kitten food. Did you know that one in ever four kittens fails to live more than a year? I mean obviously, obviously I know that's just an average, and it's weighted by extreme results on either end and one in four just happened to be the median result of the study. I know it's not a rule I just...

I just think I'd better stay home tonight. In case.

Mouse is a perfectly good name - you're beating yourself up again, and unnecesarily so.

I suppose it must be very hard to discipline a cat...at least dogs can be trained, but cats are so wilful.

I - I'm not beating myself up I'm just, I didn't mean to call her that properly. Only now she's started looking like it fits her and I'm not sure what else would.

...Sometimes I think 'maybe I'll get up, just for a moment.' And she seems fast asleep, but the moment I think it a little claw starts to dig into me. I don't understand how she knows.

A name's a verbal description of how you think of something. Mouse sounds lovely.

Cats are psychic....they always know.

Is it?

....Izuru doesn't mean anything at all. I always wondered why it was chosen for me, because of that, but perhaps you're right and it is appropriate, after all.

And you know, I think she just might be.

I think Mouse is a fine name for the kitten. Ironic, as well. Maybe that's why I like it.

She really isn't much bigger than a mouse just at the moment, I'm not sure what I'd do if she grew into a giant of a creature with a name like that. Although, although I suppose that would only make it more ironic, really.

Kitten, right? From the way you describe her, Mouse sounds fine. Seems like she'd fit more as a mouse than a cat anyway.

I haven't got work tonight, if you need I can come over and watch her while you're at work. It'd definitely be something other than sitting on my ass and staring out the window.

Yes, a kitten. I suppose calling her a thing didn't really fool anyone, did it.

And that... I... That would be very kind of you.

Not particularly, but it doesn't really matter.

*grin* What time do you have to go? I actually was going to go pick up one of the kittens that kid had, but he'd given them away before I could. So, this'll be kinda cool.

Oh, god I feel terribly greedy now, I think other people were interested in the kittens too, and I didn't even ask, I just... sorry.

And well, I'll probably, probably go sometime between eight and nine, although it won't matter if it's a little later. You could really come over any time around then, if you're certain.

I think naming a creature for its sound is nice. My kitten back home's name is yaouchan because well...he goes; "Yaou, yaou". I also keep it lowercase because he...is very lowercase.

In any case, I'm also available for kittensitting if you ever need it. Though I'd have to keep her in my room, Akamaru would throw a fit.

I didn't know you had a cat... Mouse really doesn't seem to have a miaow, I don't know why and I hope it doesn't mean anything bad, but it is rather sweet. Maybe she'll grow into her miaow as she gets older.

I, um, I'm not sure about how wise it is to take her to other apartments yet, though. She's just getting used to things here and, well, the dog. I'm sure he's a lovely dog, but I'd be a little nervous.

[...]

I don't know why kittens chirp...I've heard one other kitten who chirped and it always brightened me up. Maybe Kiba would know, that's more his area. Vocality in a feline is a byproduct of how it's received, if you want your kitten to continue being vocal you should respon to its chirps with kitty noises of your own or that high baby speech people seem to think is fit for animal use. Then she'll know you're listening. -smiles-

You do have a good point, she's very young to have her territory switch on her. I don't know how you'd feel about me being in your apartment or anything...but if you ever need it, the offer still stands if Momo isn't around or anything. [From your description, I don't assume Renji to be a cat person.]
