After a few days in Camelot, boring modern things like laptops and sullen baristas were more than welcome sights. Tara had practically cried with joy at the flush toilet, too.

"Hey," she said, sliding up to the table. "It is really, really good to see you. Thanks for having me."

"Did you get here okay?" Francine had to ask. "Not that Merlin's portals are ... I mean, he's really getting better at them!" Cough. Um. "Cupcake?"

Francine may have picked out three or four of those already. Francine might also have a batch cooling in the dorm room, but those were for later. Hush.

"The portal was ... better than I could have done," Tara said carefully. "Much."

Of course, that was in part because she'd never tried teleportaton. But she'd gotten there in one piece and with all limbs where they belonged. She'd be grateful even if the ride had been a little rocky.

"Cupcake," she nodded eagerly, reaching out for one. "I haven't really stayed with anybody who can bake yet. Though Kennedy did try to make me breakfast."
