Since I posted mine, I've found a better measure of fame I'd like: a podcaster on a history show is a fan of another podcast I listen and we're both in the book club for it. I was really glad to see her name there as someone I admire in another sphere. That's a level of fame I'd like. But I do think your feeling is just as sensible!

I feel like listening is a good skill. It's definitely rare - and not necessarily making anyone else carry a conversational load.

It's nice to know other people have the same protocol as I do. I also call my best friends once a week as she lives many states away from me. If I don't make notes of some kind I will hang up and almost immediately realize I'd really meant to tell her something I really meant to.

The number of times I have done that *shakes head* Usually that's when I remember I should have made a list
