On a girl guide camping trip, I was stuck in a tent with girls who were mad about the Osmonds and girls who were mad about David Cassidy, to the extent that they would tell me what their favourite was doing at any time of the day, so I always remember what the time difference is between here and the US! I was into Motown.

Goodness, how did they manage that in the days before social media? I never understood the whole idea of teenage crushes on people who lived in a different world from me and my friends.

Hee - I am complimented to find that I would be there alongside your slightly more discerning friend who worshipped David Essex!

I love maps too! I had architectural plans on my walls, instead, but I think it's the same idea of seeing the world spread out.

It's so hard not to have that celeb phase, I think. People get so boring all of a sudden.

Yes, seeing the world spread out is exactly it. I love dioramas and aerial photographs, too.

Teenagers can be pretty boring, can't they. Younger children are full of curiosity. Then they hit their teens and decide they know it all *g*

I had a picture of David Cassidy on the inside of my wardrobe, but it was because he was standing next to his horse - I loved the horse! *g*

We also had that same map of middle earth - I think it was probably my brother's first, but then I appropriated it. :)

It was a pretty ubiquitous map.
