I've been a bit absent recently. I didn't realise for how long until I was reading all your entries and realised how many questions I had backed up on the meme. Catch-up time again. Under cuts to save your flists.
29. Do you manage your time well?
I do, on the whole. Although that is less important since I retired. The issue now is more about filling time than managing it. At least, that's the case at the moment. I'm hoping that at some point in the next 12 months, that might rectify itself.
30. What was the last book you read?
Balzac and the little Chinese Seamstress, by Dai Sijie (translated by Ina Rilke), the story of two young men sent to be re-educated in a remote mountain village during the cultural revolution. It's not at all grim (I don't do grim in my reading (or watching)) and doesn't really mention the work they had to do in the fields. Rather it is the story of forbidden Western novels and the courtship of a young woman in a nearby village. But there I'll stop, to avoid spoilers.
31. What would you do if you became immortal?
Oh my goodness. What an awful thought if I were the only one. It's the paradox of life that we don't really want to die, but the thought of surviving everybody we know, forever, is equally horrifying.
On the other hand, if everybody alive today became immortal (and I suppose also sterile) humanity might take more active measures to preserve the environment.
And so to April:
1. Do you have any channels you regularly watch on YouTube?
No. That's a rabbit hole I have so far successfully resisted. If I see a recommendation that looks interesting, I'll follow it, but I close the tab before the next autoplay can take over and I don't look at the related links on the right.
2. Do you listen to any podcasts?
No again. I listen to live radio. I have a pocket radio for when I go out for a walk and a little portable for indoors.
3. Favourite fast food chain?
And again. No. I don't have one. I don't eat chain fast food. McDonalds and Burger King horrify my taste buds and I've never tried KFC *g* There's a local fish and chip shop that I occasionally go to, but that's not a chain and is the only take-away I ever do. If I want to go out for a meal, I love Far East Asian food, but the local take-aways' portions are too big to get a good selection for one (or even for two) so I don't indulge. I'll wait for the restaurants to open again.
4. What are your goals for the next year?
To be more active than I've been in the last 12 months *g*
