Lovely to hear from you! I don't even want to know how long it's been since I posted. Agree with you entirely on the queen. It's going to be awhile before King Charles sounds natural.

With 70 years close observation of world events I imagine her advice was worth having. There's so little she hadn't seen in her reign.

Yes, she worked very hard, read all the government papers every day, so she was hugely well informed as well as experienced. What we call 'institutional memory', isn't it? Valuable in a world of here today, gone tomorrow politicians.
