Computer Fail...
DH caught us a virus on his computer yesterday. I spent three hours reading up on it and following instructions to rip it out. Mostly successful but ultimately a fail as our internet connection is inconsistent (horribly slow and completely unable to connect to many sites) on that computer now

I got hit with a nasty nasty virus a couple of months ago. Standard methods of removal didn't work because it had latched onto some windows files that are always running when the computer is on, so there is no safe point to actually delete them. And of course, those are the bits that repropagate all the rest of the crap it's trying to put on your computer. Malware Bytes saved the day by flagging the items to be deleted on reboot. It worked like a charm.
