Morals/laws? You can't help who you are. But you can help pretending to be someone else. Sex, alcohol,driving fast.. everything. We all choose to be one way or another because what we believe in and what "laws" we have set for ourselves. Our person "rights and wrongs". And wether you are true to them or pretend to be something you aren't, they're there. I rather live by what I personally believe in and let others do the same than waste my time and energy trying to conform people. Let people do what they want. They'll always see it differently. . . .

thats pretty much what i wrote, i just added that i don't care either way. i used to, i don't any more, i don't think any less of any one, i am just trying not to think of them at all.

your morals may not be who you are, they may be who you want to be or who you think you should be, some people may want to do things that thier morals [be them handed down by god or otherwise] may not let them do. so in a way they do make you who you are but they may also keep you from being the most honest version of yourself.

alot of people hang out with thier friends knowing full well that thier friends are shitbags but they would rather be a pseudo shitbag than be alone. and alot of people adhere to set social morals for fear of being an outcast.

i think we actually agree with eachother for the most part, the part that threw you off may have been the bit about me no longer careing, it kinda makes it sound like i am condemning the "subject" but indeed i am not.

when i read your livejournal, it makes me feel weird because you seem to always be somewhat referring to people who make you angry, or it just seems like you hate everyone. i always wonder first (because of course humans are completely self-absorbed) "does this have anything to do with me? does he HATE me?"
or things about your friends not really being your friends and im thinking is there something i'm not doing to be your friend? i mean, i try to call a reasonable amount but usually the phone just keeps ringing..i would say at least 90% of the time you don't pick up or call back, and its cool, i understand, but when reading your livejournal is my most reliable update on your life, it makes me think "man, he hates everyone! he must hate me!"

if you replace the word morals with the word values this whole subject would make more sense. the word morals usually makes people think of a certain set of rules created by church or grandparents. its hard to think of a shitbag being that way because of their own morals its more likely that you think they have no morals. some people might say that they are against gays because it is "immoral". i guess what im trying to say with that is the morals are relative but hardly anyone thinks of it that way, rather they think of morals as one universal code. thats why a criminal is considered immoral. value on the other hand is a much better word. because its much easier to understand that a person who fucks anything that walks does not value themselves or sex. its really your value system that influences everything you do. if you do only what is cool to everyone else than you value societies opinion over your own mind and thats dangerous because society really has no opinion. if i buy dan a cinnamon roll its because i value the

jake, i love you, i pretty much used the word moral because it was late and i was too tired to think of a better word [the lack of sleep would account for the overall awkwardness of the statement] but i agree values is a much better word and as for evolution we have just witnessed an evolution of my feelings on the subject thanks to the points brought up by you and miss hopscotch.

but the fact remains, do what ever the fuck you want, i'll be the last person to care.
