Oh, B!!! So so so glad to see you writing and to see you returning to this haunting...piece.
Loved this - But he doesn’t. He just looks impassively at the pale face and pretends he has not noticed all the things he noticed in the space of a handful of heartbeats.
Your gift for internal emotive 'scapes...is such an evocative thing. I adore it in you. And I love that you can do this. Do. This.
I'm so happy that any writing is getting done. I read over Part1, and you know, I enjoyed that. I enjoyed writing this. I'll take writing, period, right now.
I know!! And you know what?? It was FUN! I enjoyed writing it!! I wasn't picking my scabs about not writing more or getting anywhere with my original. It was just fun. I like that.
There is the same sort of moment when a pirate who has been at sea more of his life than he ever spent on land looks at one who desires to do the same; all that they are prepared to fling aside swims upward to remind him of what he lost or what he has yet to find. An adjustment of the equation towards a balance that never arrives.
This is just as gorgeous as the first part! Really beautiful writing...haunting images. Hope you'll continue this. It's lovely.
