Have you thought about eating small snacks throughout the door? Not eating for long periods of time is always a recipe for disaster. You'll get too hungry, as you're noticing, and then eat more than you would have otherwise.
Yeah, I just need to think in advance.. Today, I didn't plan. Thanks for the suggestion, though. Maybe I'll start taking carrots or celery sticks to work with me.. popcorn.. yum!
and of course you can eat more than just little pieces of vegetable :) crackers are also a good thing, and lots of things can go on crackers. tuna fish, for example, some peanut butter, pieces of cheese. celery sticks especially aren't good because they have no calories, so they won't do anything at all. You should do some research on good snacks :)
well, I usually put spreadables on my celery sticks.. like cheese wiz or peanut butter. The main issue with that is packing them already spread, because I wouldn't have the time at work to do so. (Coffee shop.. not very big on leaving time for one to prepare one's own food unless on break.) crackers and cheese or tuna sounds good, too.
oh yes.. loads of water.. floating away in my sleep.. had to get up several times to pee. I just needed to wait for my stomach to register it was full. It took about 20 minutes to half an hour after I'd finished eating.
One of the things H and I implemented was putting away our big dishes.
We now eat off the side-dishes (bread plate, what have you... they're about 6" across), leaving the food in the kitchen. The thing is, by the time I've finished what's on the plate, and considered getting back up for seconds, at least half the time it seems like too much bother. I can't remember the last time I had thirds.
It's mainly a trick of slowing down the food intake until the body registers that "I've eaten, and am now digesting" signal.
Might possibly help. But certainly going 8 hours without any food is a bad idea... better to find something easy like baby-cut carrots and hummus or something you can bring and munch on with negligible prep.
