The brilliant thing is that .....the show is so large...it has to be shown in two parts. I havent gone yet..want to, yes...and want to catch it again when they switch out the exhibit. They only have room to show so much at a time! We should check with C. to find out when the the "switch" is scheduled!
wow!! thanks for the links to those films... they look awesome! :) having a read and look through that Portland page was interesting too, it's nice to see parts of the city you live in, even if it just shows the acceptable to the norm bits.
I can only do the saturday market about every three months...I cant stand being in pushy crowds...and some of the food vendor booths are a bit more pungent than they should be(meat on a stick IN YO FACE!)...and they always have the lamest bands playing...but there are some great jewelry and textile booths...and some DIY girls(and guys) making/selling the most gorgeous things. Id rather support them there than buy their wares through a shop that takes a cut. I had forgotten that the market had started up again...might go this weekend. wanna come? :D In a way it's good that they covered the obvious spots...otherwise all of my ol favorites would get inundated with tourists. gah! And seriously...what can you learn about a city in 36 hours??????
ooooooooo! I'd so love to come to the market with you! I had my own stall at my friend's local 'Black Market' last Sunday - it's where ol' goths sell their old clothes, boots, CDs, accessories and anything else at all - I'll post some pics soon! I know what you mean about the tourist thing, we have a deck of cards here that you can buy for only $10 and it gives you a map, review and photo of every little secret bar hidden in Melbourne's old lane ways. It completely sucks because some of them were 'my' hideaways! Now there polluted! Bah! And yeah, 36 hours is a laugh - I've always been of the mind that you should at least live somewhere for 5 months first, then you can really have a bit of an opinion of what the place is like. :)
