Pumpkin brownies

I heard that you could make easy pumpkin brownies with a box of brownie mix and a can of pumpkin. Of course you could also make this from scratch but I wanted to try the easy route. Supposedly you just replace the oil, egg, and water with the canned pumpkin so that's what I did. Except that the batter was way too dry so I added the water. They

I bet a flourless pumpkin cake would be good, but am not sure the pumpkin would make up for all the butter.
