Political angst about blogging

I have a blog on a blog network that belongs to the Chicago Tribune. I don't get paid for it. Which is funny because a lot of my fellow bloggers get comments all the time in which they are accused of being hacks and commenters will say I CAN'T BELIEVE SOMEONE PAYS YOU TO WRITE THIS CRAP. That sucks! I would feel hurt too. But possibly everyone thought someone else invited you. When my boss had a quasi-baby shower lunch for me at my old job, one of my favorite co-workers did not get invited and I STILL feel bad about that! I spaced making the list because I had pregnancy brain, and my boss was flaky on the best days, and nobody told her about it. And she was and is AWESOME and I would have loved to have had her there.

Yeah, I'm sure it was something like that. Even if it wasn't -- even if someone said "don't invite her! She's so annoying!" Then so what. I don't need everyone to like me. (At least that's what I'm telling myself).
