[I hate, hate, hate this] I don't care if anyone thought it was cute, I hate that Blair feels like she needs Dan's help to ~find herself~, okay? It's everything I don't want and don't need them to be. I mean, how fucked up is this. I LOVE Blair acknowledged that she let her life be defined by her boyfriends for years and also that she said she doesn't want to live in anyone

DID HE SAY THAT? My livestream was kinda shitty. I guess that doesss make it a little better, but still. This episode already started pissing me off when the magazine thing happened; stuff like this definitely was on my "Shit Blair doesn't have to worry about when she's with Dan" list. WHY CAN'T THEY JUST BE CUTE ALL DAY INSTEAD.
IKR? I can't see Blair ever going back to Chuck after all the things she said tonight about their relationship.
IDK, I got the impression that Dan has so far been the only one to see the "real Blair", ie the girl who worked at W who was ambitious, smart and hard-working and actively chose not to resort to schemes for the first time in a long while. I think Blair finds it easier to be that girl around Dan than anybody else - and this has been happening long before since they were a couple. In fact, that's what caused her to eventually appreciate him as a friend. I think that's what she meant. So I don't think Dan is going to help her ~find herself, exactly, he's just going to continue being supportive and appreciative of her choices in life. It was just poor wording on the writers' part... hopefully

It does feel like at times that they're using Dan/Blair to correct where they went wrong with Chuck/Blair. In a way, I dig it, because so many young girls who used to ship CB now ship DB, and are beginning to realise how badly Chuck treated Blair and Dan is a good example of how a man should treat a woman he loves. On the other hand - you do have a point, it does come at an expense of Blair's character acting even more erratically than she usually does. But I think I mentioned this already more or less in lisal825's journal - unfortunately, they've never bothered to develop Blair very much outside of her romantic relationships, so :/ The one thing I can at least say is that D/B is finally giving her character development, which for Blair is better than nothing. I myself see the Dan/Blair relationship much more about Blair as a character, and Dan being representative of How A Good Man Should Treat A Girl (and it's rare that a show manages to do this without falling into the Nice Guy trope). idk, despite some issues I have with this show I

I hated this episode too. I feel like the writers are just putting contrivances there to make Dair be dramatic, when they should be focusing on the comedy. Then again, both Dan and Blair have gone through some rather fucked up events these past 3 years. Blair especially
