I completely agree with pretty much everything you said. How can anyone relate to culture shock by reading about it? That's pretty much the point of culture shock, you won't get it unless you're actually experiencing it.

A nicely written and thorough entry, Calen. You relate your own experience abroad to the reading and come up with a realization and assessment of values as understood from a cultural perspective. I look forward to reading more as the quarter progresses.
