Your inspired words have got me to thinking about Identity and Relationship again and the Soul's place as mediator between Spirit and Matter, and as Reconciler between the opposites, guarding the gateway of the hidden knowledge. Mather's talks about the work as being about attracting the Nephesch into the Ruach and then Neshamah away from its immersion in matter but I think that this could be done in error if one is not gentle and does not work with much subtlety. For we don't want to loose the richness of earthly experience in our quest for divine knowledge. I would hope that each feeds the other and that she, the Soul in the Work revels in this operation.
