My friend Kara and I set a date to make salves.  She has some kind of powder that we can throw in while we melt everything that will turn the salve red.  My idea for a salve is comfrey oil with all the butters and beeswax with the red thrown in and rose essential oil.  I would love a red salve that smelled like real roses
