wow... I've enjoyed a few of his writings.
Seems he led an amazing and full life. (Yeah, OK, I admit it. I'm projecting.)
I would have liked to haven known him

Well, I can't claim to have known him, but I invited him to an anthology once and got a prompt and very kind response saying how much he would love to contribute, but couldn't because he was going in for major eye surgery in a few days. It stands out in my mind as one of the letters it really thrilled me to get. I found it very kind and flattering that he took the time to respond given the circumstances.

His pulp-related writing is so filled with wacky enthusiasm that I get the sense he must indeed have lived a very full life. And indeed I may be projecting on that. But I do know that science fiction would not be the same without him.

Hi Midori!! xoxoxox!
