Snagged a bunch of the Hard Case Crime series at the Film Noir Fest at the Castro, and made sure to snag this on your recommendation - haven't read it yet (though David Schow's GUN WORK rocked), but it's moving to the top of the stack. Glad you dug it!
Yeah, I loved it! I am glad to hear you're checking it out on my rec -- I think the other best HC books I've read so far are Gutter and the Grave by Ed McBain and Block's Grifter's Game, but I also loved Faust's Money Shot, and Ardai's (Charles Aleas's) two, Little Girl Lost and Songs of Innocence. The only one I completely hated was Stephen King's contribution, Colorado Kid. Felt tossed off, sans plot.
