Read first two chapters at lunch. I'm hooked.

Will anyone notice if I read for the rest of the day instead of doing work?

That was fun. I think the plot made more turns than a rat in a psychology lab. I had a good hunch about the whodunnit (probably because I was tipped off to be looking for it), though it was still completely unexpected and satisfying how it played out.

Ardai also nailed the genre. Without trying to spoof it, or turn it into something else, or going too "meta". I also agree -- I still cared about the characters at the end.

Glad you liked it -- it's now one of my favorite crime novels, which is auspicious company given how few crime novels I actually *like*!
