There is also a review by Skeptic Magazine and basically repeats what you say, but in a nicer manner. I've met this quack several years ago and wondered, "Dude, How much drugs have you done?"
At least if I want to believe in fringe science stuff I'd rather trust someone with a real science degree and persues this stuff as a hobby and didn't take himself seriously, Dr. Franklin Ruehl. He's a nuke scientist and while people mock him for his UFO ideas, he never takes it too personal. I was surprised he was still alive and was featured on USANetworks Characters. I remembered when he did "Mysteries from beyond the other Dominion". It was pretty silly and not a whole lot of science, but it did make you wonder if we are really alone out here in the universe.

Holy Crap! If I am not mistaken I think I used to watch Mysteries from Beyond the Other Dominion in the early '90s -- I loved it! I could never remember that guy's name or the series name. He is actually a real scientist?

Yup, he has a theorical nuclear physics degree from UCLA. His hobbies are ufo-ology and cryptozology which is how he got (in)famous as a speaker at West Coast Cons and the theorical physics behind UFOs and their propusion systems. He then went on to do a few shows and podcasts. He pops up every now and then as a movie or TV extra including the remake of Escape to Witch Mountain as a UFOlogist (hard stretch of the imagination on this one).
