Some things that are happening as I speak ...

1) I am currently reading a lovely book entitled Life of Pi by Yann Martel. It is just so rare indeed to stumble across a novel as beatific and wondrous as this. I'm almost 3/4 of the way through it (I'm not going to say anything about the plot - to spoil this treasure would be tantamount to treason ( Read more... )

Life of Pi is wonderful! I read it months ago, and it still sticks in me like some big beautiful dream I had myself. I'll be interested to see what you think about the ending...

I don't know about you but I chose to believe Pi's version of events. It was so magical and full of life that I had no choice but to be pulled along for the ride. The book didn't necessarily make me believe in God, per se, but it did make believe that God exists inside of us, each and every one.

What a wonderful novel. I was sad to see it end. It's always nice to meet/talk to/chat with/blog with people who have read what you are currently reading and hear nothing but good about it.

The book made me happy, and I feel happy that you had the same assessment of it. What a wonderful piece of work, that.

Yes, I believe Pi's version too. In fact, I was rather distressed when the question came up... trying to be vague in case anyone else reads this and hasn't read the book.

I'm just bummed that either way, it's a piece of fiction, and I'll never be able to see that island. It's been a long time since I've been that sucked into a book. I really was in his world. Lovely, lovely! Glad you liked it too!
