One of my favorite patients is in the hospital. She is an 18 year old with anorexia and bulimia, she also is a cutter and drug abuser. She had not eaten in a week and was not able to keep any fluids down, but continued to use drugs. She came to the clinic almost unable to walk, so she was admitted and placed on a feeding tube. I had anorexia when I was a senior in high school. I weighed 94 lbs when I graduated. But I had a very shitty home life then.

Oooh, the poor thing. I'm glad you are able to connect with her and talk with her a little. It seems like when it comes to things like anorexia and cutting, the only people that can really connect with them are people who have been through it. I've been able to help people who were cutting, and when I was cutting (many, many years ago) my brother's girlfriend was able to help me because she'd been through it and understood those feelings. I'm sure she could use a connection with you - maybe you could write each other little cards or something once in a while? <3<3<3 I'll think lots of loving thoughts towards her.
