Smart Sounds 2: three months later

Since the Smart Sounds 2 programming three months ago, I've noticed both powerful and subtle changes:

  • Telephone: conversations are easier, much easier. I surprise myself at how well I can understand heavy accents; I work in high tech and many of my colleagues are from India, and before now I didn't even dare to call them up without using a relay ( Read more... )

This is wonderful news, and just amazing. Although not affecting me personally, this information may come in handy in the near future for my future "granddaughter".

She was recently diagnosed with close to total hearing loss in one ear. They're talking about an implant, but she's only two - a little tyke.

It's exciting to read about this! Thanks for your occasional reports, and congratulations on continued progress!

A word about music in dance clubs: I don't think you're very far behind the rest of us in the ability to understand lyrics in club music. Unless I already know a song very well, I can almost never pick out the lyrics... usually I get the feeling that they aren't the most important thing about the song anyway, at least in that setting!

I can only imagine! uncommonthread and UFCub and other friends are often sweet to sign the lyrics -- when they're sober enough to do so. :)
