Aye, I know. I figure my perspective that Lawrence was really just bitching about his own past lovers and frustrated that he hadn't yet found - or he was missing - a lover who orgasmed without effort, if you read the dialogue of the fellow. From the very start he evaluates women as to how they behave in bed, yet he doesn't do the same thing to men. Chatterley orgasms with marvellous ease once she lets go of some emotional baggage, and it's really... rather silly, really. I mean, complaining because one of his past lovers needed to stimulate herself during sex with him to orgasm. Some people are just built differently, and both writer and games/groundskeeper just couldn't deal with it! Little fantasy world, bah.

Social commentary seemed to be secondary to what seemed to be the mother to all mills and boons novels.
