PSA - Care and Feeding of a Thorny Psyche*
*I can't believe I actually need to write this.
I have had two stalkers in my short life. One was of the "creepy-but-harmless" variety, one left me in fear for my life. I was forced to move several times before the dangerous stalker lost track of me. I expect I will never feel completely safe in my own home ever again.
I am extremely protective of my legal identity. My phone number has been pulled off of caller ID's, my address found via legal and less than legal means. I never again want to see my front door kicked open by a psychopath, and will do what I can to prevent that.
Yes, I have an email address listed in my user info. It comes with the paid account, and would be just as easy to figure out if I did not list it. When people that have never communicated with me by any other means use that email to ask for a picture of me, it scares me. I understand that it is meant as a compliment; but if I don't know you from Adam, I don't know you from the fucker that chased me for four years either.
