Adventures in Neverglade - A Lack of Plans

Newborn sims are boring. They cry, they sleep, they cry, they contemplate the universe. Jamison spent the rest of his maternity leave reading, watching TV, and practicing chess while Mikale was at work. They traded baby duty when they were both home, and would sneak off to the bedroom for some quality time anytime they both had nothing else to do.

I suppose this was inevitable.

Jamison does not make normal sim sounds (other than clapping), but he does loop ghost noises continuously. These include moans, screams, and haunting laughter. Every time Mikale started to feel queasy or made a mad dash for the bathroom, the haunting laughter would loop through. Every. Time.

Jamison was on his way home from an emergency at the hospital and Mikale had his head in the toilet when Andrew's birthday rolled around, leaving Andrew to age up alone.

Family planning? What's that?

Andrew didn't really seem to mind his parents being a bit distracted.

He was perfectly content to entertain himself for hours on end.

You might have noticed Jamison in the background here. If he has nothing else to do, and Mikale isn't home, he lives on the couch. On the rare occasion he actually gets to finish his book, he'll then turn on the TV and zone out until he gets hungry or a baby needs something. He does this without any prompting from me.

Now, Andrew is far from neglected. Mikale went on maternity leave shortly after Andrew's birthday and spent many happy hours in the sun working on skills with him.

Jamison insisted that the bending and lifting required for teaching Andrew to walk was a bit much for Mikale to do in his delicate condition and spirited the baby away to the library.

Not that Mikale's condition was a concern for other physical activities.

*cough*

For the most part, Mikale enjoyed being pregnant and getting some extra time with his son. Labour, on the other hand...
