Hi everyone. I just found this article and thought maybe it would spawn some more stories about our two favorite guys.
You can find the actual article here: "

Chance of Thorpe swim sliding away

THE odds on Ian Thorpe competing at this year's world championships grow longer by the day.
Tomorrow he will strap on a crash helmet in company with fellow swimming greats Michael Phelps and Alex Popov and charge down an ice track in a bobsleigh race in St Moritz, Switzerland.
The three titans of the pool, who have 15 Olympic gold medals and 24 world titles between them, are sponsored by Swiss watchmaker Omega, which also backs the bobsleigh World Cup in the Swiss town this weekend.
The swimmers will compete in a celebrity two-man bobsleigh competition after the men's event. Omega, presumably, has a great insurance policy.
Thorpe's manager David Flaskas said they had been assured that Australia's most valuable swimmer would be accompanied on his run by "a very good brakeman".
"He had his first ski lesson yesterday and he survived that," Flaskas said.
"I don't think they are putting him at risk. Anna Kournikova did this event last year."
After four days in Switzerland, Thorpe and Phelps will travel to Jacksonville, Florida, where they have been invited to the Super Bowl between Philadelphia and New England on February 6.
"If Ian is going to be light-hearted, this is the year," Flaskas said. Thorpe has not yet decided if he will contest the world titles, but his current schedule casts serious doubt on it, given that the national selection trials begin in Sydney in six weeks.
He returned to serious training for the first time since the Olympics just three weeks ago.
Flaskas said his sponsors had arranged pool access for him in Switzerland and the US so he could continue to work on his fitness.
