And that is exactly what makes those kind of IT professionals -- who are unlikely to be 'good'-- hard to work with.

People whose role model is someone who ALWAYS as far as I can tell assumes the client is lying and/or wrong, and who then try to apply 'logic' and 'efficiency' to that?

House is almost the antithesis of a good IT Pro ... he's more interested in being right than any other outcome. The fact that the script-writers haven't let him kill anyone in his "lets-sue-his-arrogant-he-hates-himself-ass-off" behavior is the perk of being a TV hero.
