Ok I'm not going to give up the facebook account because it's a wonderful way to stay in touch with people, but oh my god. I do not want to know who friended who or who wrote what where. That's a bit too gossipy and stalkerish even for my liking...

They "fixed" it a bit, go to the My Privacy link and you can control what people see in the News and Mini-Feed settings. Also, go to the Everybody settings and uncheck the box at the bottom if you don't want them to use your info in reguard with companies that collect data and statistics on who likes what music and crap. If you have any other questions feel free to ask, I've been trying to keep up with it all.
