When I transcribe I usually order and cut the footage for a finished project. Is this some kind of legal thing? I've had my share of boring video but watching people do laundry is a new one.
Naw not a legal thing, this is a gig I have with an ethnography company. I transcribe their interviews as well as the thing that this is, when they leave behind a camera and the interviewees are supposed to video tape stuff relevant to whatever it was that the interview was about. In this case some company that makes washing machines is having them interview people with front-loading washers about their laundry habits.
Next assignment was FAR better at least. Still laundry surveys, but the woman interviewed designed video games for the military, and even when they divert from talking about what they use to remove stains to talk about more "personal" matters, 'tis still my job to watch and record. MUCH more entertaining, to be sure.
