i agree with the fact that people believe in a god so they can give themselves answers to things they dont know, and to give them hope in some way. and i also think a lot of poeple believe in a god because they are told to, and have never had it any other way or because thats the way the people around them are. this doesnt go for all people because im sure people do believe in a god because thats just what they believe. soo yeaaa you better be happy that i commented.

I believe in God because I can't see how this world isnt the work of some greater being. I know you have theories against this or whatever, but it's what I believe. And I find strength from the God I believe in. I honestly feel that he cares about me, and I see things happening because of my faith. I dont think that God is Faith, i think that he gave us the freedom to choose what we believe, and decisions sometimes come with consequences ( ... )

I think that the Christian faith is more of a fear of the afterlife and all that more than it is a choice to believe.
There are two main elements of Christianity that led to my agnosticism:
1. Hell
2. Prayer

Hell cannot exist if God is just. He created everyone, and he created every aspect of their personality, so basically he set all of their sins in motion when he created them. Therefore he caused all the sin that he hates so much, and he cannot rightly send anyone to Hell. So Christianity exists under the concept of predetermination, and that sucks.

Okay, so apparently God has a plan, but he's gonna make a change in this infinite logic and have to restructure the entire plan he has prepared for the world so that you can overcome some illness or something. If he wanted that, he should've just made it that way to begin with. Prayer doesn't make sense. 'nuff said.

See Exodus for advocation of child slavery.
In Corinthians they say a man with long hair cannot be righteous.

but you know, i think a lot of things in the bible arent just stories or direct rules, they're lessons that God wanted us to learn. i dont take everything literally, because some of that stuff is just downright silly. plus, being a christian, i see a lot more relevance and direction for the way i live my life in the new testament, where christ is teaching.

and with the hell thing, like i said before, we have the freedom to choose. that's whats so amazing. we can choose what we want to believe in, and he lets us do that. but God still tries to show us that he cares and which way he wants us to take in life. we just need to stop and look. most people just dont take the time to listen, and thats where they come in saying he doesnt care and he cant exist.

i think prayer is really important because it gives you strength and comfort. it's also a time when you can sit down and try to listen to what he has to say.

but if god gave you the freedom to choose what you believe, i will too.
