Free Will(y)...(ignore the y)

I have a kitten on my lap...this is rare, folks. Not only is she calm, she's also not biting me. Hoo-ray! Stampy really does like being around people. Y'know, she'll sit at the top of the stairs and cry for someone to give her attention, but as soon as you enter the basement she jumps at you - gnawing and thrashing at the air and your person ( Read more... )

I'm writing this here because it is too late for me to think about this right now. But I do want to come back to this and think about it... just when I'm actually awake.

Jodi there's only one religion that works for everything, and that's; The Matrix. I refer you to the discussion in the second matrix regarding the philosphy oh cause and effect, that every disision you make is has already been made, in the sense that it is just a reacion to prior event(s). It applies to the effects of your actions too, in that, if you do somehing a certain way at a certain time in a certain place with certain company etc, it's consequences are unavoidable. theres no such thing as free will, there is only the illusion of free will. If there's a god, then said god either controls you directly or indirectly, or, (and this is also true if god's just being an ass and watching us for laughs) we are all on our own, but each move we make was preditermined when the very first atom took a left instead of a right at albaquque. cause and effect. now bow down to the matrix.

*bows* I do love the Matrix, but I wasn't really paying attention when I watched the second one. I was using my brain to figure out whether or not I liked it. I still haven't decided. Sadly, I missed the philosophical greatness that you claim it presented. Thank you for a (rare) intelligent answer.

I would have liked to come up with some brilliant response to your thought-provoking post, but my brain does not seem to be co-operating at the moment. Perhaps I should watch the other Matrix movies (the first one was great anyway)
Kittens are so adorable they shouldn't be allowed. Show me a kitten and I squeal like a little girl and scrunch my face up in a slightly terrifying manner (I've tried to reproduce my 'isn't that cuuuuute' expression in front of the mirror...not a pretty sight. Maybe I should stop that?) Why don't you get your own kitten? Then you wouldn't have to worry about becoming too attached.

Ha! (why does Mr. Kaulback haunt me so?) Vicky, any face you make is a beautiful one. Never give up honest expressions. I couldn't possibly get a kitten. D'Arcy hates this one as it is. And she's still my ultimate favourite. I don't know if you'd fully enjoying the Matrix sequels...I haven't seen Revolutions yet. And I don't think I will.
