I'm listening to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and I do love it. Thanks Vicky. When I showed it to my dad yesterday he got almost excited and with a little goofy grin asked if he could listen to it. As I handed it over I realized that I now know one thing that I can get him for Christmas. I always try to find something related to music ( Read more... )

The thing about Canadian idol, is that no matter how good the people are, if they can write their own music etc... it won't matter because in the end they're bound by contract to sing what the hired song writers write for them. And in a way I can't help but think that that is selling out just a bit. You would think, that being as amazing good as they are, they'd be able to make a few demo tapes and send them off to record companies that would allow them their own creative freedom.

That's just what I think.

Of course the two acts that I want to see are the last two on the bill. >.<

Anyway, I love vinyl! If I had the option of trading in all of my CDs for their vinyl counterparts I would in a second. To me, music sounds so much more...fresh and authentic on vinyl. Weird? Probably.

I'm so glad you like Sgt. Pepper! I can't help but smile while listening to 'Lucy in the Sky..." ('Mr. Kite.." makes you think of clowns? oh no! Now that you mention it...)As for The Bends, I'll admit I don't understand all the lyrics either, but where music is concerned, at least for me, the lyrics can almost seem secondary to the overall emotion, effect or sound.
I know I'm going to miss our wonderful group of individuals very much this week. I'd rather see everyone too instead of going off to art classes with a bunch of scary strangers (goodness! what will I do if they are all...'normal'?!)
As for Canadian Idol...I suppose I'm willing to give them a chance. Besides, if the music isn't that great tomorrow, at least there's still the opportunity to see some of our group all day. Still, I'm hoping you're right and I am 'pleasantly surprised'. We shall see.

Wow! this is so creepy. That night that you couldn't sleep I couldn't sleep either. Unfortunatly for me I had to wake up to go to work for 9:30 the next morning too. I eventually drifted around 4amish... And when I woke up there was a skunk smell drifting into my bed room. *insert twilight zone theme here* I am glad you are looking forward to beach fest so am I!!!! I can't believe summer is almost over. I have dipped in and out of Idol this season. I like Threasa and Kalan... I hate the poser guy with the pierced lip... I hate him!!!! I want him out. see you tomorrow old chum!
