Own Perceptions

I was just thinking about people's own perseptions of themselves - and how wrong they often are. How somebody might think of themselves as unloved (or anything), but there are lots of people out there who love them more than anything in the world...the person just doesn't know. ~Becca ( Read more... )

The unloved

For the unloved -- is it a failure of perception, or a failure of the lovers to make themselves clear? Is there even - in this world, or in heaven -- unclear love?
Objective

When you are talking about understanding of the world as it is, we sometimes seek mechanisms -- mathematical I mean - that both dull and expand our understanding. Dull it - because its very purpose is not to allow our own human prejudice to so easily express itself; expand it, because there is a clarity of expression that to those who know it goes beyond all others, makes all other methods seem devoid of life.

But when what we are doing is living, is being the human self as social, isn't it likely that the brain evolved to live by its own illusion? Consilience of illusions, including the illusions of "cause" (or of "god's eye"), is achieved because the hallucination is consentual. In the same way two people can share an illusion if they are playing the same game together, so we can all share the illusion of most clearly given to us by brains informed ( ... )
