It's okay! Seriously, I haven't done most of my offerings for that either. You never told me what you wanted, art-wise, for that matter.... Me, I just sympathize in regards to all this. If something like this happened to me, I swear I'd be stomping and yelling and gnashing at things. I hope you can salvage at least some of it. And if not... I can sympathize with you wholeheartedly.

Oh, there was plenty of stomping and yelling and swearing when that happened. Fortunately, I could just unleash the robots to clean the floor, once I cleared the obstacles and cleaned the desk.

And actually, I had a thought if you don't know what to do for me art-wise. Do a picture of a character - yours or otherwise - that you think looks interesting, for whatever reason. No rush, of course- I realize you're going to be busy with your new job.

An original design or a reproduction of something else? Got a character you especially like? Or even variety of character? Just for reference. Were you able to salvage any of your work? I hope so.

Original design if you have one in mind, otherwise a reproduction of something else. Hm, any type of character really, just someone you think is visually interesting (for whatever reason).

Yeah, I was able to salvage some. I'm still working through it, and I think most of it can be saved in one way or another. I may re-create a few of them anyway, using the damage as an excuse to improve on them.

Oh, god...that sucks. I'm so sorry, and I hope that your work is as recoverable as possible.

Well, most of the damage was confined to the edges, so at least for some of them I might be able to crop the edges in such a way that they don't look too horrible. It turns out things weren't quite as bad as I thought. Most of the things that got completely soaked were hand-written gaming notes that I'd been meaning to type up for weeks or months anyway, and they are still legible, if not usable in their current state.

Just for clarification, he's spilled many a drink on napkins, unimportant scrap paper, couches and recliners, carpets, floors, the dog,etc - just not normally on important thing like character sheets...

Wait, when did I ever spill anything on the dog? Everything else, sure, but I don't remember doing that....

*grimace in sympathy* been there, done that, have the chocolate pudding-ruined keyboard, the coffee stained legal brief (seriously, when i worked at a law office), and several hundred stained articles of clothing to prove it.

take your time, love.

...legal brief? Oh my.

Well, as I've been commenting above, most of it should at least be salvageable, though it will take some time.

Good to hear from you again, btw- how are things going?

yea. fortunately it was just the copy and the lawyer had the original. she was raelly nice about it, telling me all about how she did the same thing on the original copy and had to use it in court.

actually, really good. its why i havent been online as much: IRL is much more interesting and pleasant.
