I tend to choose music that compliments my mood to help perpetuate the situation long enough to put pen to paper and let it all out, crystallize the moment so I can come back to it later, in a different mood, read it, and see if it evokes feelings I had when I wrote it. I do catch myself sometimes... "that's a line from s fucking Bush song" and all. :)
We were together nine months, which may not seem like a long time but it's long enough for me to recognize the value and potential of our relationship and I don't want to lose that.
I'm not giving up, not this time, we joked with each other that ours was the last intimate relationship we'd ever need, and at this point I feel like that off-hand statement is so true - all I want is her. She's asked me not to push, to leave the topic of our relationship off the table until I'm in a better place and she's more receptive to it.. so here I am, in a better place, waiting for her to give me some sign that it's appropriate to actively pursue her.
It's way more complicated than it should be. We both agree we love each other and that we want to be together, so we should just do what we have to do to deal with the past and leave that behind us, move on to the next chapter of or relationship.
