Movin' on up...I wish

I'm so depressed right now. I have been living in my 2-bedroom condo for over 13 years now, and I have gotten quite comfortable in it. However, it's too far from work, and too far from friends. I started to look for a new house, but everything I like is just beyond my price range

230k seems pretty steep for that area... that will buy you a 1970's-1980's 1600-1800 SF. 3 bed, 2 bath house in California where I'm at... easy.

Where I live now is considered beyond the suburbs of Philly. Where I want to live is the suburbs of Philly which is a lot more expensive.

Which area do you mean that's 15 miles from Morgantown? At the time when I moved out of North Jersey, a two-bedroom condo there was $250K and I thought that area was already very expensive!

I'm looking to move closer to Malvern. Malvern is much too expensive, Phoenixville is more "reasonable".
In general, New Jersey is even more expensive, but I think salaries are higher there too.

Ah. I half-expected you to say Exton because I know it's expensive there. Generally, if you can stay a bit away from the Main Line area, real estate would be more affordable.
