I've been meaning to write a post about religion for some time, but I wasn't sure how to start. But looking back on my journal over the past year, I noticed that over a year ago I posted about how I was feeling a resurgence of spirituality. I am catholic myself and still go to church weekly, but for awhile now I have been getting bored of it lately. I am disgusted with the church because of all the child molestation in the news as of late, they knew it was going on and did just pushed them around to different parishes. Sad to say there were three of them at mine.
Just the way I feel at the moment, sorry to put that out there.

I'd like to say that my change of faith is purely about religion, and has nothing to do with the Catholic Church, but in fact it has had an impact. The Catholic Church's staunch opposition to birth control and gay marriage pisses me off. But with that said I do have some great friends in the Church, and one of them is even a priest. So I hope my lack of faith doesn't affect our friendship. But one philosophy hasn't changed. My views are my own, and I don't feel a need to "convert" anyone.

I still believe it. Every word that has come to us translated correctly. Not because of scientific proof, but because of the Spirit that testifies that it's true as I ask, and through experiences in my life where I have seen miracles happen that science simply cannot or could not yet explain.
I can understand how hard it is though, the "mockery" of the world, the eroding of core beliefs in the lives of those around us, etc. I hope you find what you are looking for in science...
