After watching the mini Monday night for the shipper re-watch, I suddenly had the urge to go back and reread (for the millionth time, yes-your point? ;) ) some of the first great Kara/Lee fics I devoured found in the BSG fandom, and especially those set before or during the mini. Just to connect again with that rush of excitement I felt upon

We actually have several slash fans who are also Kara/Lee shippers (like Kate Andrews, whose fic "Something Pretty" I rec'd)! Someone explained the other day that this is because K/L is a kind of "genderless" pairing in many ways. I hope I'm not misquoting the person who said this, but that was the idea I took from her explanation, which I thought was really interesting. :)
Also, your aversion to het really confuses me!
P.S. Status update on Hunger Games at work tomorrow please!

While I can understand how one can see K/L as genderless, it's still het. Ick. Especially if it's NC-17, I only like reading slash. I really can't say why, either. Ever since I started reading fanfiction I've only ever enjoyed slash.
You just need to broaden your horizons a bit! lol

LOL, okay. We all like what we like!
RE Broadening horizons: I read Kara/Lee/Helo yesterday and that was really pushing it for me. I like what I like too, and right now that's only K/L.

Oh, and I think the idea of a fic rec post after each ep is great!!!! (Bee and I were planning to post fic recs too... rewatching the eps + fic reading is the perfect way to watch this show again, imo) :D

I'm happy several people seem to be up for weekly recs. We should all post recs every week! I mean, I could get us started each time, but it would be great to have everyone's help--it's a lot of work to dig them all up, which is why my list was so short this time! So I'm very excited you and Tara posted a bunch more. Teamwork is love. <3
Also, sorry I still haven't caught up on all the posts about the mini at no_takebacks yet. I got behind over the weekend on stuff, and then I didn't want to read and comment until after I'd seen the mini (which I finally got to do on Monday night). I will get over there before the "33" posts go up, though! I'm sure the discussion has been great. I should be on time to discuss "33" with everyone this week, so that will be nice.

I guess that's the reason we love them so much... Pre-mini K/L are still pilots but without all the angst from the series... Besides, despite their inherent frakked-upness, their story always seems so hopeful from pre-mini perspective...

Oh girl, yeah, I know. As I told you, I was planning to post a fic pre-mini fic rec but I am such a freak that I wanted to re-read the ones I was reccing (because I wanted to include a little comment too, and without a re-reading I could't bring myself to do so. Sigh. ;)). I think those kind of posts are really helpful -especially for newbies-, and taking into account that it seems there are a lot of newbies doing the rewatch (and this is really weird, girl, because I consider myself a total newbie here in BSG fandom... but right now it seems that not anymore lol!)
sorry I still haven't caught up on all the posts about the miniNo sorries, no sorries, Heather!! You know, sometimes it is * ( ... )

Yes, ITA.
Oooh, there are lots of newbies doing the rewatch? I guess that does make us relative veterans!
I love that you added the lines for each fic (and I'm sure it wasn't a hard thing to read those lovely stories once more, hee). I think I'll try to do that for next week's as well. I forget sometimes that not everyone is as familiar with these fics as I am by this point (I was obsessed with reading all the fanfic out there when I started poking around the fandom in '07!), so those types of things do help...
You know I'll drop by. I love chatting with both you and Bee, and about mini pilots! *squee* It's just a matter of when. I mean, I have a pretty small f'list and it's *still* very hard to keep up. Makes me wish there were more hours in the day!
