What is your favorite daydream, and why?

My favorite daydream is simple enough.  There are many variations on it, but the ending is largely the same every time.

A new military leader rises in the Empire.  Sometimes it's Grand Admiral Thrawn, or a clone of his.  Sometimes it isn't.  But with my guidance he, or she, unites the Imperial Remnant, reacquires or destroys any remaining fringe elements, prepares... and then launches a first attack, a fresh campaign against the usurpers of the Rebellion.

Even in daydreams, it's a difficult campaign.  But in the end, we win.  Coruscant becomes Imperial Center once more, and if Rebel forces and leadership aren't reduced to a shell and fleeing, they are destroyed.  My leader graciously accepts the surrender of someone of rank - Mon Mothma, perhaps, or Leia Organa Solo - and the galaxy settles under the rule of a new, more benevolent Empire.

And I -

Most of the time I die at some point in the process.  When I do, it's either a sacrifice or due to my being assassinated by Rebel agents.  Either way, it's inspiring to my leader, but I don't get all that much credit.  An academy dedicated to my name, at most.  I'm comfortable with being a footnote.

But there have been a few times when I... survive.  It's a bit of a trial just to speak of it.  I survive, and I am free.  He's gone.  I can serve the Empire in some other capacity.  Teacher, sometimes.  Sometimes, without him, I connect with someone and... settle down.  That's the phrase.  I see what normal is like.

It's a waste of time, of course.  These daydreams.  Imagining the future, without knowing what these others would do - he is here, but I'm not him, and I can't predict these things.
