Almost Ryo/Uchi...
I realize most of you are probably here for Subassan, but when the creator of this 'verse demands Ryo/Uchi, who am I to refuse? So I bring you another untitled drabble with Ryo, Uchi, Koyama, Shige and Yasu.
Uchi doesn’t know whose idea it was originally, but it becomes obvious very quickly that his coworkers are conspiring to set him up with Ryo. Oh, they try to be sneaky about it, but “subtle” isn’t really in Koyama’s vocabulary, Shige is a terrible liar, and Yasu’s just too amused to make much effort to hide what they’re doing. In no time at all, both Uchi and Ryo are aware of what’s happening and who’s responsible.
He and Ryo have a good laugh about it and make sure the others know it’s a waste of their time, but they can’t resist bringing it up again when they go out drinking after work.
“So,” Ryo says to Uchi, clearly amused, “Apparently I want in your pants and am just too chicken to go for it without help.”
“Why didn’t you say so, Ryo-chan?” Uchi asks, totally failing to hide a smile. “I’ve been hiding my feelings for you all this time because I didn’t think you were interested.”
“Okay, we get it,” Koyama groans, flopping dramatically across the table (barely missing several half-full cups). “You’re not secretly in love with each other.”
“Or if you are, you don’t want to admit it, so you’re trying to avoid the subject with jokes,” Shige puts in.
“Oh, don’t start psychoanalyzing me,” Ryo grumbles, glaring at him. “Save that for the people who need it.”
“Sorry,” Shige says immediately. They’re not at work, and Ryo’s not one to pull rank anyway, but it’s automatic for Shige to defer to him.
“Be nice, Ryo-chan,” Uchi chides. “Shige’s just concerned for your mental health.”
“Shut up.” Ryo smacks Uchi on the arm, barely hard enough to be noticeable. Uchi giggles and puts his head down on Ryo’s shoulder.
“Are you sure you’re not secretly in love?” Yasu asks, eyeing the two of them. “You sure look like it right now.”
“Ours is a pure, platonic love,” Ryo explains, trying to shrug Uchi off. Instead, Uchi scoots closer and puts an arm around him.
“Totally platonic,” Uchi agrees, snuggling up against Ryo’s side.
Koyama and Shige exchange skeptical glances. “Sure,” Shige agrees. “Totally platonic.”
