My mother impresses me too. Took a while to stop being completely daunted by her! She's not only a really high level engineer, a place fewer women reach, but she has degrees in both metallurgical and materials engineering. Also, she's incredibly good at cooking (gourmet level), gardening and quilting. I'm trying to get her to put the last in juried shows. Her precision is, well, mathematical.

See, I'm a bit in awe of her.

She's doing something now on the new lunar vehicle. I think. Mostly, she's getting ready to retire!

Your mum sounds like she has an awesome job. I don't know the specific project, though space tethers are wonderful concepts & I want to see more tried. Will look forward to seeing the poem!
