Resources (Take Two!)
My own use of resources has grown so greatly since tea_roses initially invited me to the community and added me to her own post. Since I do not have access to edit her resources post readily, I'm making this a supplemental list to help compensate for all of the doujin and fanart icons that I so love to do.

Q. Did I ask [ so and so artist ] for permission to icon their art?
A. No. Did they ask Kishimoto for permission to use his copy-righted characters? Probably not. I'm not the most organized person, so if any artist is missing from this list then my deepest apologies. If such an error is pointed out to me, I'm more than happy to add them to the list ASAP. However, I will continue to icon doujinshi and fanart (Japanese as well as other nationality) because I enjoy doing so. I'm neither claiming the artwork as my own nor making a profit from the act of iconing it. I respect that there are vastly differing opinions on this graphics issue, but ultimately I believe fandom is for fun, and it's not an issue that I'm going to stress about or let hinder me. If anything, I hope it would be viewed as a compliment, because I only icon fanart that I especially like and find beautiful. You could say I'm a faniconer versus a fanartist or fanficcer. ;D
Q. Bla Bla Bla something about not properly crediting?
A. Like I said, I'm a horribly disorganized person. One of the reasons I don't require credit of my own icons (or request that people refrain from modifying them) is because of this lazinesslack of organization on my own part when it comes to crediting resources I have used. Another reason is because while spreading the word is nice, I don't feel that I've done anything worthy of credit by making an icon. I play around with images that other people have created (anime, manga, photography, etc.) using textures and brushes that other people have created. I also don't like the obsessive credit driven attitude of the iconing community on livejournal. So while I try to maintain a resources post as a link back to spread the word of the people who's textures, brushes, or images I like and use, it's not something I'm going to require for others who use my icons nor is it something I'm going to obsess about for my own record keeping. If this upsets you, then please by all means don't use my icons.
