Ken left after You & said "See you in another 6 years", then the rest of the band did a little I---iii-IV- instrumental jam, then left. Then the big Oblivion Dust banner curtain thingy at the back came down, revealing another set of curtains behind it, which opened up a little bit to reveal a movie screen. Projecter at the back came on & a short (2-3m) BGM-only black & white video started playing, complete w/ film projector noise, of the band in a studio, after which came the titles, one screen at a time:

Oblivion Dust

New Album

Coming Soon

o_O;

Girl apparently screamed "for the first time EVAR at a concert" when that came up. :P" A bunch of chicks around me started crying. Which was sorta expectable, I guess, but they apparently also had to SAY that they were crying. As if it wasn't obvious. "OMG, I'm crying! I started crying! D00d, lookitme, I'm crying!" Umm, duh? -_-; Oh well. Must be a chick Japanese chick thing. Kinda like the ヘエエエエェ??! thing (which I forgot to mention yesterday- during ABS' set, TMR Takanori was talking forEVER, so when he finally said the next song'd be the last, and every single girl in the whole crowd all went ヘエエエエエ?! at once, he was like 「その声を待ってた」 ("I was waiting for that voice"). Fan whore. :P").

I saw a pick on the floor afterwards, and was running toward it, ducking under the barrier between sections, and got about 2' away from it when some other chick bent down & grabbed it. Fuck. -_-;

2m MP3 of the film & its aftermath- see if you can guess when the titles came up and it said "New Album". ^^; It's pretty freakin' quiet, so you might have to crank it up (you should be able to hear the film projecter sound). (And listen for Girl's comment right at the end, after spending a full minute in shock).

Show ended pretty early (it only went from 5-6:30), so we killed some time at Starbucks & karaoke before finally ending up at Kua'Aina (the Indian place we were going to go to was closed when we got there). I'm kinda curious how last night's show was (and whether they showed the same announcement (I kinda doubt it, or the reaction tonight wouldn't have been as strong)), but I'm glad I went to the BT thingy. But I counted no less than 6 HD cameras (1 on each front stage corner, 3 right in front, & 1 at the far right of the balcony), so here's hoping for a DVD release (in which case I'll probably be visible, since I was pretty damn close to the front left, a full head taller than pretty much everyone around me, and sorta stick out anyway in shows here anyway).

Payday tomorrow. Which is good, 'cause I was so fucking broke I actually had to take money back out of my US account (at a penalty of about ¥8/$ since the exchange rate's gotten better for yen->dollar, but worse for dollar->yen since I sent myself the money a few weeks ago -_-;). I need to figure out how I'm gonna manage to do a Kyoto trip w/ my mom when she visits, get a digital recorder to replace my DAT (¥945/tape/show is getting ridiculous, esp. w/ 5 J shows coming up next month), possibly get something to transfer all my DATs (unless the digital recorder I end up with has an optical in (and I can find my/an optical out adapter)), send enough back to cover the usual bills, and have enough left over for whatever other expenses I'm sure will come up this month (like, oh, the Luna Sea tickets, if we actually get them)... Stupid money (or lack thereof, as is the case)... -_-;
