How things change

When I was growing up in the 50s, photographs weren't all that common. I have quite a few from growing up, but nowhere NEAR the number that kids today will have - assuming the media the photos are saved on survives until their adulthood. I am younger, you know but it is mostly the same here. Well, we used to have a very good family album but my dad got and idea and removed all the photos from it because he wanted to re-arrange them. Of course the photos had no date/name on them and of course, my dad had never made it. Lots of the pictures got lost and the remaining ones have no information on the back side...

My parents are photographers so I'm betting there will be more milestone pics of my than my daughter. Although my MIL likely only has a few good ones she could locate of my husband.

I wonder sometimes if e-photos are better. We have hundreds of Japan, likely 50 or more good ones in that, although only a few I've printed. I must remember to put together an actual physical baby book because mine I liked as a kid and appreciate now (as a teen I of course hated them). Those e-photos will get buried and lost on old electronics. Hopefully a book will be around and accessible for longer.

I keep procrastinating about getting favorites printed out. I'm a terrible Grandma; I don't have a current picture of my grand-daughter in my wallet and her photo album (mine) here is several years behind HER. I do, however, have hundreds on my laptop and switch them out with my desktop background with other pretty stuff.
