American Gods has been one of my favourite books for quite a while. There's even a quote from it in my LJ's sidebar. It's a long, winding tale, full of tangents and side stories that follows Shadow and what he does when he becomes the bodyguard of a god. Very cool! I really love the book myself; it's actually what got me into liking Gaiman. (I listened to it back and forth from work in the car, and it actually got me wanting to leave in the morning, and that take a hellofalot.)
